In 2019, Apostle David L. Hysten Jr. and his devoted wife, Pastor Mary Hysten, began a journey that would touch the lives of many. Together, they launched a couples’ ministry designed to uplift, encourage, and strengthen marriages. Through open discussions about relationship goals and the challenges that married couples often face, they created a safe space for growth and healing. Using social media platforms such as Facebook and YouTube, their ministry quickly grew, reaching more than 1,000 people who were blessed by their message of hope and love.As they continued to serve faithfully in various churches, God began stirring their hearts with a greater vision. The calling was clear: to plant a ministry that would not only preach the Gospel but also put the love of Christ into action within the community. One Sunday, as Pastor Mary led the congregation in praise and worship, God revealed to Apostle David L. Hysten Jr. the name of their church—Power Outreach Ministries (P.O.M.). The name reflected their mission perfectly: to go into the community and demonstrate the transforming power of Jesus Christ through both word and deed.

In May 2022, Power Outreach Ministries was officially born. From the very beginning, the ministry made a powerful impact. Their first community outreach was a back-to-school giveaway, where they served over 300 children and families with school supplies, encouragement, and prayer. Soon after, they expanded their outreach by opening a free clothing bank and food pantry, where families could shop and receive what they needed—completely free of charge. These acts of service became a living testimony of Christ’s love.

Most recently, Apostle David L. Hysten Jr. and Pastor Mary have relocated to Phoenix, Arizona. With unwavering faith and compassion, they are committed to continuing the mission God placed on their hearts: to share His Word, serve His people, and show the love of Jesus Christ to all.
